SALVATION
Life's
Most Important DECISION
by: Pastor Max
Solbrekken, D.D.
"Jesus
said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh
unto the Father but by me." (John 14:6)
THE
BIBLE SAYS THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO HEAVEN
You
can't buy your way into heaven, you can't earn your way into
heaven. The only way to heaven is salvation through
Jesus Christ. Jesus' death on the cross was the once for all
sacrifice that atoned for the sin of all humanity.
WHAT
DOES SALVATION MEAN?
The
definition of salvation (from Wikipedia) - In
religion, salvation is stated as the saving of the soul from sin
and its consequences. It may also be called
"deliverance" or "redemption" from sins and
its effects.
Jesus
Christ offers the gift of salvation to all. This awesome
invitation, and the free gift of eternal life is open to you and
every person on this earth. Jesus never turned away a single
individual. Forgiving the adulterous woman He said,
"Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more."
He healed the leper, declaring, "And he said unto him, Arise,
go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole." (Luke 17:19)
SALVATION
IS THE GREATEST GIFT AND INVITATION YOU WILL EVER RECEIVE!
"For
God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that
whoever believeth in Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting
life." (John 3:16)
When
the crowds were hungry and the distance was too great to buy good,
Jesus refused to send away the multitudes lest they faint on the
way. Jesus performed a miracle and multiplied the loaves and
fishes in order to meet their needs.
Jesus
helped an embarrassed bridegroom when they ran out of refreshments
by turning water into wine. He also had compassion on a
widow woman whose only son had died. He raised the young man from
the dead, healing the mother's broken heart as well as solving her
financial problems by restoring her son! This
widow received the free gift from Christ. The gift of
compassion, prosperity, freedom through Christ Jesus our Lord.
The
Holy Spirit faithfully declares the source of Jesus' power:
"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost
and power: Who went about doing good and healing all those
who were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him."
(Acts 10:38)
Jesus
promised, "Whatsoever you shall ask in My Name, that will I
do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask
anything in My Name I will do it." He also promised His
disciples that they would receive power after the Holy Spirit had
come upon then and that they would be His witnesses to "the
uttermost part of the earth." (John 14:11-14)
SALVATION
THE FREE GIFT AND INVITATION IS AVAILABLE FOR ALL. This
takes in everyone on this planet, regardless of geography, race,
religion or ethnic origin.
A
witness is someone who has seen something, a witness is someone
who has heard something and experienced something relevant
to the question or case being examined or investigated. It
is God's will that His witnesses bring verifiable proof and
tangible evidence that what he is propagating or testifying is
true! To assure His disciples that He would confirm their
witness with signs, wonders and miracles Jesus promised, "Teaching
them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and,
lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.
Amen." (Matthew
28:20)
The
unfortunate thing is that the unbelieving, modernistic,
compromising churches of today want the security of Jesus' promise
to be with them always, but they reject the promise Jesus made,
of power with which to battle against Satan.
They
claim the power of Jesus Christ is no longer available to the
Church, but His presence is still available. How ridiculous
to even think such foolish thoughts. YOU CANNOT SEPARATE
THE POWER OF JESUS CHRIST FROM HIS PRESENCE!
GOD
IS USING HIS POWER TODAY - The truth is that God is using His
power today to bring multiplied blessings to those who call upon
His Name and love and honor Him in truth! I am convinced
that God helps Christians even when they know nothing about it.
His hand of mercy reaches out to us and protects us from danger
and death. When Satan tries to destroy us, God makes a way
of escape.
MY
PERSONAL TESTIMONY is that God has been very good to me.
Much better than I deserved. My heart is full of praise to
Jesus Christ Who loved me enough to die for me. He came to
me when I needed Him most and He has never let me down even though
I have failed Him many times! The gift that Jesus Christ
gave me of salvation was the greatest gift I have ever received.
Jesus
Christ the Lord God is "sweeter than honey and the
honeycomb". Only those who have tasted honey can effectively
tell someone else what honey tastes like.
The
Psalmist made this invitation, "O taste and see that the
Lord is good." In order for you to really know
God you must experience Him in your life. All you need
to do is accept the free invitation of salvation that Jesus Christ
has offered you! Then you must invite Him into your heart.
It is a joy to have your sins forgiven and know the peace of God
as condemnation leaves.
HERE
IS LIFE'S GREATEST INVITATION TO YOU:
"Come unto Me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I
will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28) Will you
come to Jesus now that you may live? My prayer to God is
that you will.
Salvation
is life's greatest gift and salvation is YOURS IF YOU WANT IT.
Salvation
is life's greatest invitation, the free gift of forgiveness and
eternity in heaven with God.
WHAT
YOU MUST DO TO RECEIVE GOD'S GIFT OF SALVATION
1.
You must admit that you are a sinner
The
Bible says, "If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a
liar, and his word is not in us." (1 John 1:10)
"For
all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Romans
3:23) "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the
world, and death bysin; and so death passed upon all men,
for that all have sinned;" (Romans 5:12)
2.
You must be willing to turn away from sin - to repent of your sins
Jesus
said: "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all
likewise perish." (Luke 13:5)
"And
the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all
men every where to repent:" (Acts 17:30)
3.
You must BELIEVE that JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR YOU, was buried, and
rose again from the dead.
"But
God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)
"That
it thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9
"For
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting
life." (John 3:16)
4.
You must INVITE JESUS into your life to become your personal
Saviour.
"For
whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be
saved." (Romans 10:13)
"For
with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the
mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:10)
HOW
DO I INVITE JESUS CHRIST
INTO MY LIFE?
Pray
to God, a prayer - from your heart.
Tell Him that you are a sinner and that you need forgiveness.
Tell him that you believe Jesus Christ died for your sins.
Tell him that you are willing to change, to turn away from sin.
Ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart and life and be your
personal Saviour.
"But
as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons
of God, even to them that believe on his name." (John 1:12)
"Therefore
if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are
passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2
Corinthians 5:17)
If
you prayed and ask Jesus Christ into your heart - YOU HAVE NOW
RECEIVED THE GIFT OF SALVATION - YOU HAVE BECOME A CHILD OF GOD.
God Bless You.
WHAT MUST
I DO TO
BE SAVED?
Jesus
said, "Come unto Me all ye that labour and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)
Yes,
my dear friend, God is still in the business of setting men and
women free from their sins, sorrows, heartbreaks, fears and
troubles. In this age of frustrations, nervous tensions and
mental collapses, Jesus Christ is still granting peace to the
troubled, joy to the discouraged, strength to the weary and
healing to the sick!
1
- You must admit that you are a sinner
The
Bible says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of
God”. (Rom. 3:23) “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have
turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on Him the
iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:6)
2
- You must believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God
You
MUST believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that Jesus died
on the cross, was buried and rose again from the dead.
“That
whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal
life. He that believeth on Him is not condemned: buot he that
believeth not is condemned already.” (John 3:15,18) “Verily,
verily, I say unto you, He that heareth My word, and believeth on
Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into
condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” (John 5:24)
3
- You must repent of your sins
The
Bible says, “…except ye repent, ye shall all likewise
perish.” (Luke 13:3) “Let the wicked forsake his way and the
unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord,
and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will
abundantly pardon”. (Isaiah 55:7)
4
- You must receive Jesus Christ as your Saviour
The
Bible says: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish,
but have everlasting life”. (John 3:16)
“Behold,
I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open
the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he
with Me.” (Rev. 3:20) “He that hath the Son hath life: and he
that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” (1 John 5:12)
5
- You must confess Jesus Christ as your Lord
The
Bible says: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him
from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man
believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is
made unto salvation”. (Romans 10:9-10)
“…Whosoever
shall confess Me before men, him shall the Son of man confess
before the angels of God: But he that denieth Me before men shall
be denied before the angels of God.” (Luke 12:8, 9)
HOW
DO I INVITE
JESUS CHRIST INTO MY LIFE?
Pray
to God, a prayer - from your heart.
Tell Him that you
are a sinner and that you need forgiveness. Tell him that
you believe Jesus Christ died for your sins. Tell him that
you are willing to change, to turn away from sin. Ask Jesus
Christ to come into your heart and life and be your personal
Saviour.
"But
as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons
of God, even to them that believe on his name." (John 1:12)
"Therefore
if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are
passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2
Corinthians 5:17)
If
you prayed and ask Jesus Christ into your heart - YOU HAVE NOW
RECEIVED THE GIFT OF SALVATION - YOU HAVE BECOME A CHILD OF GOD.
God Bless You.
