Where
will you spend Eternity ?
by Pastor Max Solbrekken, D.D.
One day an
angel will place one foot on the sea and the other on the
dry land and lifting his hand to heaven, swear by Him that
liveth forever and ever, that “Time shall be no more”!
(Rev. 10:5-6)
Then, the
sun will go out like a candle in the wind, the moon will
turn to dripping blood, the stars will fall from heaven. The
sky will roll away like a scroll and the earth will melt
with burning heat!
The clocks
of time will all stop and the ‘wheel of eternity’
will begin! A thousand years will come and go - A million
years will be like a drop in the bucket and eternity’s
wheel will just have begun to move!
Have
you ever thought about the eternal destiny of your soul?
Have you given this important matter any serious thought?
You haven’t! Then wait a minute and let me give you some
FACTS. You say that you are not interested - then, you must
be a very foolish person, not to be interested in something
that involves your most treasured possession, your own soul!
LET
ME TELL YOU MY STORY, FOR I WAS A LOT LIKE YOU! For many
years I neglected my soul’s salvation, not caring to hear
anything about God or eternity. I was in good health and
physical condition, knew how to dress well, was successful
in business and felt that I could look after myself without
help from anyone!
Then
one day God spoke to me. I began to read Gospel literature
and I began to THINK. God impressed upon me that, although I
knew how to get along well with people, how to look after my
body and how to make money successfully, I wasn’t giving
any attention to my soul and its eternal destiny.
Finally,
after a struggle with myself and the devil, I yielded my
life totally into the hands of my Maker. I invited Him to
transform it from being useless, sinful and ugly to
something useful, clean and righteous. In June 1957, in a
little motel in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan I knelt beside
my bed and received new life from Jesus Christ.
My
life was completely changed! What joy, peace and happiness
has been mine from that date to this!
Jesus
said: “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain
the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man
give in exchange for his soul”? (Mark 8:36-37) Your soul
is the most valuable possession in the entire world.
IT
IS YOUR SOUL THAT IS AT STAKE! If you perish and “are lost”,
you will suffer the consequences. Your father, mother,
husband, wife, children or friend will have nothing to do or
say about your fate. It will be your own personal doom!
Jesus
was conveying to us the great importance of the value of the
individual soul. He said, the soul of man is priceless -
beyond the worth of money or possessions!
Its
worth is greater than the monetary value of earthly
possessions. In other words, if you became so wealthy that
you owned Canada, USA, Asia, Europe, Africa and the Islands
of the sea - if you were the sole owner of the entire world
and died in your sins, went to hell and lost your soul, WHAT
GOOD WOULD IT BE?
What
good are the influential friends, all the popularity, fame
and riches when your body is six feet under the sod and your
soul is burning in a devil’s hell? Jesus said, “What
shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world but
lose his own soul”.
YOUR
SOUL IS ETERNAL and long after your body is dead, your soul
will live on in either Heaven or Hell. Every human being is
on a journey to eternity. There can be no turning back and
no way to miss this appointment!
TIME
MARCHES ON AND ONE DAY YOU WHO ARE READING THESE LINES,
SHOULD CHRIST TARRY, WILL LAY COLD AND STIFF IN YOUR GRAVE!
AND DON’T THINK THAT CREMATION WILL CHANGE ANYTHING!
The Holy Bible ~
The Bible says, “And as it is appointed unto men once to
die, but after this the judgment”. (Heb. 9:27) The Bible
states it clearly. Death is not the worst that could happen
to you - IT IS INEVITABLE!
The
sad thing is to face death alone without God, and then to be
judged and doomed to eternal torment forever because of
rejecting the Saviour. Death is sure and Judgment is sure!
WHERE WILL YOU SPEND
ETERNITY? Think about it. The Holy Bible says there are only
two places - HEAVEN - a place of happiness, peace and joy.
(Matt. 25:34; Rev. 21:4) - HELL, a place where there is
agony, pain and torment. (Matt. 25:41-46; Luke 16:22-28) ~
Holy Bible
ETERNITY
IS FOREVER - There is a term in Algebra called infinity. The
word ‘infinity’ defines a number that is so large it has
lost meaning. For example, if you multiplied a number by
itself and kept doing so, eventually the sum would become so
great it would lose all meaning. We would call that immense
number, infinity, for it is too great to comprehend!
This
is the way it is with eternity. It is forever! Our human
minds cannot comprehend it. It is so great it cannot be
measured, because it will never end! One day an angel will
come down from Heaven, put one foot on the sea and one foot
on the dry land and swear with his hand raised to Heaven,
“that time is no longer to be.” (Rev. 10:5-6)
From
that moment, TIME WILL BE NO MORE AND ETERNITY WILL BEGIN!
God will stop the clocks of time and start the wheel of
eternity. Round and round it will go and will never stop.
And eternity will begin!
ETERNITY,
ETERNITY, ETERNITY!
Oh,
sinner, where will you spend Eternity? Either in Heaven or
Hell. Today you must decide. Please choose to serve God.
Receive Jesus as your Saviour, Master and Lord. Pray this
prayer: “Oh, God be merciful to me a sinner, and save me,
in Jesus’ Name!”, and you will be saved!
Holy
Bible ~ The Holy Bible
says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not
perish, but have everlasting life”. (John 3:16)
Giving:
The Secret
of
Receiving!
|by Pastor Max Solbrekken, D.D.
"Give,
and
it
shall
be
given
unto
you;
good
measure,
pressed
down,
and
shaken
together,
and
running
over,
shall
men
give
into
your
bosom.
For
with
the
same
measure
that
ye
mete
withal
it
shall
be
measured
to
you
again.
(Luke
6:
38)
Show
me
a
giving,
sharing
person,
and
I'll
show
you
a
happy
person!
On
the
other
hand,
a
stingy
individual
is
usually
taken
up
with
himself
and
others
of
‘the
same
ilk’,
and
soon
tires
of
both
himself
and
them!
Those
kind
of
people
are
most
often
selfish,
grabby
and
critical
of
others. They are usually insecure because they trust only in
themselves,
rather
than
having
faith
in
God
and
their
fellowmen! After a time of self-adulation and navel-gazing, the ‘self-made
man’
loses
faith
in
his
own
ability
and
the
system
that
‘created
him’!
Consequently,
such
a
person
is
unhappy,
depressed
and
a
candidate
for
ulcers!
Some
of
the
happiest
people
I
have
met
are
dedicated
seniors
who
have
faith
in
God,
live
only
for
their
families,
doting
on
the
‘little ones’,
counselling
their
children
or
entertaining
guests
who
‘drop by’!
What
makes
this
country
function,
is
not
the
bloated
beaurocrat
or
politician,
but
the
dedicated
moms
and
dads
who
rise
early
in
the
morning
to
help
their
kids
deliver
newspapers
and
who
spend
countless
hours
driving
them
to
music
lessons,
hockey
or
baseball
practice
and
Sunday
School!
Let's
not
forget
the
thousands
of
community
workers
who
continually
give
their
time,
money
and
effort
in
working
to
help
the
under-privileged,
and
be
a
blessing
to
their
fellowman!
I've
met
a
lot
of
these
special
people
- during
more
than
four
decades
of
Christian
Ministry
-
many
of
which
are
unheralded
and
unsung.
And
without
doubt,
these
are
the
real
backbone
of
Canada's
homes,
churches
and
communities!
KATIE
KUTRYK:
ONE
IN
A
MILLION!
I'm
referring
to
people
like
Katie
Kutryk,
who
passed
away
a
number
of
years
ago
at
88
years
of
age. She was a woman who never missed a beat for Jesus, the Church
or
her
family!
Katie
was
‘always there’ for us all; an example extra-ordinaire,
of
Christian
loving,
giving
and
sharing
the
gospel
of
Christ
in
her
daily
living.
She
utilized
every
opportunity
to
testify,
give
to
missions
and
support
her
Church
and
pastor!
We
all
miss
her
dearly!
My
son
Ken, Superintendent of the Alberta District of the Pentecostal
Assemblies
of
Canada,
put
Katie's
life
in
perspective
by
sharing
the
following
at
her
funeral:
"Several years ago, a number of Edmonton Churches united for a Gospel
Outreach.
The
weather
turned
bitterly
cold
and
attendance
was
poor.
As
I
was
hurrying
towards
the
auditorium,
a
lone
figure
stepped
off
the
bus
and
headed
against
the
wind,
in
the
same
direction.
It
was
Katie
Kutryk.
While
others
had
stayed
home
to
enjoy
their
fireplaces,
Katie
had
come
to
serve!"
Here's
a
little
poem
which
I
hope
will
be
an
inspiration
to
you.
We
found
it
inscribed
on
a
restaurant
place
mat.
The
last
six
lines
were
added
by
myself.

Jesus
said:
"...Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them
that
hate
you,
and

for
them
which
despitefully

(Matt.
5:44)
It
is
difficult
to
be
tolerant
and
caring
to
those
who
misunderstand
or
abuse
us,
but
the
Holy
Spirit
gives
the
necessary
help
to
do
so.
To
be
tolerant
however,
does
not
mean
that
you
must
compromise
your
principles!
Let
us
all
seek
to
be
servers
and
givers,
rather
than
always
demanding
others
to
serve
us.
And
remember
that
true
charity
or
'agape'
love
goes
the
‘second
mile’!
